I encountered a challenging experience during a recent virtual interview that I believe deserves reflection. The interviewer conducted the session with her camera turned off, which contributed to a less engaging atmosphere. She inquired about my current role and the responsibilities I hold, to which I provided a comprehensive overview. When she asked why I was considering leaving my current position, I expressed that I was seeking better opportunities to utilize and expand my skills and capabilities. However, I was taken aback when she implied that my motivation was primarily financial. This comment was unexpected and not aligned with my intentions. I believe constructive communication is essential in professional settings, and I hope to encounter more understanding and respectful dialogue in future interviews.
