The interview process took approximately two months from start to finish. It began with a recruiter call — notably, the recruiter mentioned that a previous candidate had accepted and then rescinded the offer, which felt a bit unusual to share upfront. From there, I had a hiring manager call that was relaxed and conversational, focused on past experience and general knowledge. After a couple of weeks, I was invited to a panel interview with senior directors and department heads, which covered previous experience and questions tied to Slate's core principles. One panel member joined only briefly before dropping off, which felt a little disorganized. An offer came a couple of weeks after the panel. Overall, the process got the job done, but communication throughout was inconsistent and could definitely be streamlined. If you're patient and stay proactive, you'll get there.

HR screen, then tech screen, then panel interview. Quite possibly the worst interview processes I've had in my career. From beginning to end it just felt very poorly run. Just about every decision or action they took had me wondering "why did they do that?".
