Terrible experience - the worst in my 12 year career to date. Skyscanner talk a good game but do not follow through and, looking at recent interview reviews, my experience was not an outlier.
I applied on the 31st October and the process was still ongoing by the 5th of March with one more round remaining.
These are the nominal stages:
- [17th November] talent screening
- [11th December] hiring manager skills interview
- [14th January] prep call with talent for next round
- [16th February] panel: task/presentation - I exited the process after this stage, having waited 3 weeks for feedback
- [who knows, sometime in 2027?!] panel: culture fit*
*I was told during my prep call that both panels are booked and run either on the same day or week to reduce lag between feedback, this obviously did not happen.
Communication is terrible, the onus was on me to chase the talent team for any feedback and movement.
Skyscanner's talent team would brief me with information that was wrong or go silent for weeks at a time while I was waiting for a next round to be booked.
My task/presentation had one of the panel absent on medical leave but no one knew until the session had already started. One of the panellists also said that other candidates were getting longer times to present (1hr Vs the 45 mins I received). I was not offered the option to rebook the interview.
The task itself was vague and did not describe the product correctly, and the questions I asked were not answered promptly or satisfactorily (so this was not intentional vagueness, in my opinion).
Do not bother with Skyscanner, and exit your process at the first available point if you see these issues occurring, it's not worth the mental energy!
