My LinkedIn profile peaked their interests as their were looking for an experienced machine engineer for their client. I checked their website for requirements and typical tasks and this is something I've done for at least a decade, so I thought this would be an simple interview and bag this job. I couldn't be more wrong... It should be noted that they asked for interview and I did rush them when the interview should take place, however they also had 40 minutes to prepare for the interview, reading my LinkedIn profile and my CV, detailing about my projects, works, skills acquired and other relevant information to the job they offered. I was interviewed by 2 interviewers. One of them asked relevant questions in the beginning, however it slowly turned into more questions about my project results so it became apparent they haven't read my CV nor checked my LinkedIn profile thoroughly. The other interviewer barely talked so I don't understand why there was 2 interviewers as neither of them had the technical They also made it appear that their client needed someone to fill this position asap, however I didn't get feedback after a week and a half later... Needless to say, I wanna say I handled the interview well as I did answer all of their questions, however I didn't get the job because my "profile" didn't fit according to their client and I didn't get more explanation than that. So it's obvious that it wasn't the technical background that held me back. Perhaps if I looked Norwegian and was rooted with Norwegian culture, I'd stand a better chance of securing this opportunity... Overall I was not satisfied with the interview process since I had to leave the office for almost 1 whole hour to set aside for this interview. It wasn't the worst I've seen, but there is definitely room for improvements. My advice to the company would be to read the CV the candidates has taken time to prepare and create for you and ask relevant questions and include the people who will engage actively.
