Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 6 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Shusaku Yamamoto (Ōsaka, Osaka) en abr 2023

      Entrevista

There are 10 stages, I made it to the 9th stage. I had a Skype interview that was over one hour but I did not pass to the final interview. During the video call, I was told that of over a hundred applicants, only myself and four others progressed to this stage. In my rejection email I was only told that my background was not as close to what they wanted and that other applicants had more suitable backgrounds. I wasn't that disappointed that I did not progress to the next stage. I only wanted the job a little more than I didn't and here is why. Excluding personal interests, I wanted the job because I'm confident in my work ethic and I was excited to be challenged. I also felt like the position could be rewarding because you would be a part of the process of protecting and bringing to fruition, many world-changing technologies, regulations, and ideas that could positively impact society. However, during the first interview, the hiring manager made several comments about the business that made it seem like they don't care about their employees and generally portrayed the company's values as questionable. Things about the company being a business and ultimately they will always measure the worth of their employees by money. The hiring manager also made comments about how they will always do what is necessary to stay competitive. He compared how American companies hire cheap labor from abroad and supported how it was justified because people like cheap things, himself included. I am still interested in working at a law firm and in this type of position, but for a company that has pride in its values. This company has an outdated perception of work life and is a classic example of another big business draining hard workers for company profit and doesn't add nearly as much value to society as it takes. They undoubtedly rely on candidates subscribing to outdated beliefs (i.e. this is just the way it is) and are looking for individuals they can take advantage of. Every company's values are reflected in its treatment of employees and contribute to the overall work culture. If you are someone that knows how to follow your intuition, you might get it. My gut felt off the entire process, I can't know for sure how it would be to work at this company but I've never been relieved to fail to secure a job before this. For that, I feel like I dodged a bullet.

      Pregunta 1

Q: Are you aware that with this job you will not be able to have a lifestyle where you can participate in after work activities? Are you aware of this and are you okay with this?
