The entire interview process took about 6 weeks. I got a verbal offer, negotiated a little, and then was told I'd get a written offer in about 48 hours. It took over a month. During that time, I looked on Blind and discovered many people were in the same boat. Existing employees told us not to worry, it was just due to a compensation overhaul that was happening. Time ticked by. We all kept waiting, developing ulcers. Then news started to trickle in. There's a hiring "slowdown". People started getting their offers rescinded. Shopify pulled all but Staff+ job postings off their website. I got my written offer, and accepted. I hope I made the right choice. I shut down my job search after I got the verbal offer, and I didn't feel like going through the rigmarole again. If I'd had other competing offers, I probably would have accepted one of those.
