I knew in the first 90 seconds, that I was not getting pushed to the second round. The Talent acquisition coordinate was just recently promoted from a customer service role and had ZERO recruitment experience.....and she is tasked to interview Senior Managers. That makes sense. She was very incompetent and clearly lacked the skills to interview for senior roles. It's relatively easy to guess what kind of person they’re looking to hire. The Life Story interview is their "excuse" to focus on someone’s appearance and whether or not you connect with them socially versus the actual skills you bring to the organization. And if you're over 40, you don't stand a chance to get hired at Shopify being interviewed from millennials with elevated egos because they work for Shopify.

Two rounds with a recruiter including Life Story. Two back to back interviews with peers. A panel interview with hiring managers and a business interview with client group. Always talking about past experience and future vision and mindset.
