Interviewed for this role in April 2026. Strong conversations throughout multiple rounds, positive feedback from the hiring manager, clear next steps communicated — then nothing. No response despite follow-ups. This appears to be a pattern with this specific role and not a reflection of candidate quality. Hope this helps someone.
Seconding what has already been said about the app review specialist position. Received nothing but positive feedback the whole way, was told they want to move quickly, played their silly little games with multiple rounds of interviews and a ridiculous online test only to literally be ghosted by the recruiter who is currently hiring for the role as of April 2026. Couldn’t even take five seconds to write “no” when I asked for follow up on whether or not I was hired. The complete lack of professionalism has ensured I will never apply to another Shopify job in the future. I can’t even get the decency of a response after putting several weeks into this job, blocking off my calendar during a busy season at work to take multiple rounds of interviews. Unbelievable.

Title: Strong start, then unprofessional communication and complete lack of follow-through
I had a very positive initial interview experience with Shopify, which makes the outcome even more disappointing.
After a strong conversation with the hiring manager, I was told they wanted to move me forward quickly. The recruiter discussed next steps, potential start date, and compensation, and emphasized that decisions would be made within a matter of days.
A follow-up interview was scheduled and then canceled, with assurance it would be quickly rescheduled. That never happened.
After proactively following up, I received a response that felt dismissive and did not provide any meaningful update. Since then, there has been no communication at all, despite additional follow-ups.
This is not about receiving an offer—it’s about professionalism. Setting clear expectations and then failing to follow through, while leaving candidates without updates, reflects poorly on the hiring process.
For a company of this caliber, I expected significantly better communication and candidate experience. Unfortunately, this process fell far short of that standard.
