Unprofessional. Conducted over video call. The first thing the HR asked was “when did you graduate?” Followed by “ which was my first job in the resume?” These questions infer age. I knew this instant this is age discrimination. Nevertheless, I shared that I have over 10years of working experience (indicating I’m not young and not a fresh grad) After-which, they don’t have any questions for me and kept it short. I knew I will not be proceeding to the next stage of interview. The HR should do their diligence to check my LinkedIn profile indicated on my resume if age is a key factor for hiring before initiating a chat. Coz no one would list all their employment history in a 2 page resume. Wasted both my time and theirs.

HR was very nice - Phone call and prompt email notifications. Excel test was pretty tough. The bad part was the F2F interview - Questions on specific formulas, country specific landscape etc. After asking around friends and family who are in similar roles, it looks like the interview questions were oddly technical and overly focused on academic knowledge. This hints of a cut throat environment and lack of work life balance. Maybe they’re just trying to do interview to hit their recruitment targets? Having been to other interviews (and accepting a job offer), this is by far the most monotone one with no chit chat, or getting to know me at all. It was as if the interview was googling the web (aka me) for answers. For interns who want to apply to this company, you may want to consider the work culture (despite what their social media projects as an inclusive and fun place to work at).
