I was contacted by a district recruiter and set up a phone interview for the first process. After being able to discuss career paths and opportunities, we set up a store visit so I could see processes within the store setting and get the feel of how everything works. They also evaluate you and the questions you ask before sending you to a final interview based on their experience with you.
