I participated in a phone interview initially. I was on a conference call with my prospective co-teacher, the teacher I was replacing and administrators. That interview seemed to go smoothly, although it took an hour in total. Later in the semester, I interviewed for the same position at the same school for the 2016-2017 school year. I was confused as to why I wasn't being hired outright, after all that I'd committed to the school. Still, I participated in the process and was flabbergasted when I was asked the exact same questions as before and asked to detail things the administrators already knew about me, given that they'd given the exact interview six months prior. It was intimidating and clear that the job had been set aside for a teacher who'd taught had the former school of a current administrator. I felt manipulated and lied to.
