I was asked to come to their office for the 1-hour appointment, which seemed unusual (since the pandemic the norm is online in my experience) but it made sense to try out the commute, I accepted. Unfortunately, within seconds after entering and promptly greeting the 2 gentlemen (younger and older), the younger apparently dismissed my candidacy with a headshake (I happened to catch it when looking back) while being walked in front of the 2 toward the interview/meeting room.  I was made to sit on a fairly uncomfortable chair facing both across the table for over an hour without a break (I was asked about water while walking to the room but had my own). The interview itself was a bit of a struggle as the previous interaction before the beginning of the interview had left a negative mark so I had to compensate from the start by throwing in a few jokes, etc taking a lead due to the more senior gentlemen I faced seeming somewhat at unease initially. After probably 45 minutes when I started to feel very uncomfortable in the chair due to it being a random meeting-room chair, they made a call to a 3rd person (both had laptops open throughout the interview) and I probably came off somewhat protective/deflective at that point Re specific tech not mentioned in the job spec so I mentioned I would refer to the documentation, internal KB and sources and of the Vendor also mentioning one's friend Google. Re interview feedback received, the VM basically said I would rely too much on Google, which I felt was an excuse due to the initial dismissal related to my age and/or racial background, as I had come across information on the Linkedin page of the younber gentlemen referring to themselves as "young people champion" as I recall. Only posting as probably due to my extensive experience in the similar/same roles of (too?) 15+ years, LinkedIn today showed me their AD again, as they apoear to have re-posted it in the past few weeks ( and according to LinkedIn I would have been a top contender). I wrote a draft letter at the time but never sent it to the company. however, I have not been treated this way before so I felt I should post this to warn you (in case you are not <25 probably not worth the bother, additionally based on their current Glassdoor 2.9 score and the last review as well as the fact I was told majority of the previous team had left the company within a short period of time, appears that less junior engineers paid lower rate of 40K). My first (and hopefully last) post ever here or anywhare on the topic - wishing all the best for the candidates/new recruit(s) under the youtful leadership and the company hopefully ending up with a team embracing more of unsimilar attributes.
