      Entrevista

They put applicants through an artificial construct where they might do any or all of the following: pretend to have technical difficulties on a video conference interview with you (will you keep cool?), pretend to not remember basic details from your resume (will you remind them?), pretend to be so busy they can’t get back to you when they say they will (will you follow up?), pretend to want to answer all of your questions, but then won't (will you call them out?), pretend to include the CEO in an interview then have him not show up (will you be assertive?). They play games in their interview process, all the while daring candidates not to play games. Would you like to be challenged to be your authentic self by a person who is pretending to be disinterested? If you think this is a profound way for people to gauge how you react in ‘REAL’ situations, how you connect with people who are not pretending, you might want to work here. Also, you should not post a review of their interview construct and its hypocrisy. You should say all of this to their face. (If you want to work here.)

First off, thank you for writing a review and being honest about how you see things. We love hearing about how people experience our hiring process because it gives us a very valuable way to improve it. That being said, I have worked at this company a long time, and interviewed every single person we have hired. I have helped create the hiring processes (not all of things we have done worked, as we found out), but all the things you mentioned are news to me. If anyone in this tribe played the games you mentioned, not only would that be inappropriate, but we would need to have a serious discussion about whether they should be involved in the hiring process, or the tribe overall. Did anyone explicitly tell you they were playing these games? If so, please reach out and let us know - that is unacceptable. You can email our CEO, JT, at this email: jt@bookinabox.com. He would love to hear from you. If they did not tell you this, could you please let us know why exactly you think our hiring process is about playing games? I can tell you that it is not designed that way at all.
