The traumatic interview experience with Science Logic: Despite a demanding work schedule, I dedicated significant effort to completing the assignment given as part of the interview process, demonstrating real interest in the role. After progressing through multiple interview rounds and receiving positive feedback, I was informed by the consultancy managing my profile that I had been selected and could expect an offer soon.
However, for three weeks, I was repeatedly told the offer was pending budget approval and advised to hold off on other opportunities. I was even asked if I could consider an early joining date and to negotiate with my current manager. Despite my willingness to cooperate, I stated clearly that I would only engage in such conversations after receiving a formal offer.
Ultimately, I was told the role was put on hold due to budget freezes, and there was no further response from the team, even when I reached out for clarification.
Suggestion:
Please refrain from moving candidates forward in the process or making verbal commitments unless roles are genuinely approved and ready to fill. Clear, timely communication and transparency go a long way in respecting candidates’ time and effort.
