Role Interviewed For: Technical Recruiter
Review:
I was referred by an engineer who personally knew the founder, which made me genuinely excited about the opportunity at Sarsonic. My initial call with the recruiting manager went well, and I was quickly scheduled to speak with the Chief Operating Officer.
Unfortunately, things fell apart from there. The COO forgot to send me the interview details until the morning of the interview, and then, less than 30 minutes before the scheduled time, someone from the team viewed my LinkedIn — and the interview was suddenly canceled. I received a vague message asking for my availability to reschedule, but three days passed with no follow-up. Despite following up myself, I was completely ghosted.
To make it more uncomfortable, I noticed that multiple team members continued to view my LinkedIn profile afterward, yet no one ever reconnected. The whole experience felt disorganized and careless, especially given I was a warm referral.
If this is how they treat candidates, especially ones referred by their own engineers, it raises serious questions about how they operate internally.
Advice to Management:
Respect candidates’ time. If plans change or a decision is made not to move forward, communicate it clearly. The silence speaks volumes.
