I successfully got through to the final assessment centre stage. Which the process consisted of 2 group tasks and an interview. Overall I felt my performance was great throughout the day and even my feedback given was that I had performed well throughout the day. However I am quite shocked that out of 22 placement students selected out 48 interviewed, I was not chosen. However on the day I was quick to notice I was the only girl of colour in the whole workplace and chosen for the assessment centre. Usually this never bothers me however I hate my colour being a deciding factor. I am a very hardworking individual and I am quite disgusting in this behaviour from a company like Samworth Brothers. Taking a second glance at their website not a single person of colour is on careers page. It is extremely disappointing this behaviour still exists and I am relieved they rejected me as I would not have fit into the cultures and value of this company.
