SPX had an extremely lengthy interview process. I had a phone screening with the recruiter, a phone 1:1, and a group/panel in-person interview. All three interviews went well and I was told by the recruiter that the likely next step would be an offer letter after they called my references, which they did. A week later I followed up to find out that they had a referral candidate that they wanted to interview. One month later, after weekly follow ups they informed me I was the first person interviewed, which I was not aware of and why there was such a wait and that they'd be making the decision that week. I strongly recommend that for future candidates, SPX not call references and spend 15 minutes or more of their time, which we all know is pressed, unless you are definitely ready to send that person an offer letter. It was one thing to drag me through the process for over a month but another to waste my colleagues time. I am disappointed that SPX did not have more respect for the parties involved.
