      Applied through University's job website. Had two round of phone interviews. Took two week, which is pretty fast I think. Didn't get an onsite. I honestly don't know why. Maybe communication skills not up to their standard.

      resume questions behavioral questions: why novus, describe a teamwork situation you went through, what if a client thinks you're wrong. job-related questions: do you follow any hedge fund, name a couple hedge fund strategies, how to use data in finance.

      Entrevista

      Two rounds of phone interview with analysts/associates. Then an onsite interview with three different associates (30 min one-on-one). Finally, a presentation. Positives: 1) The process is smooth and rather quick. It took two weeks to finish the phone interviews and got an onsite the third week. 2) HR does a great job in arranging the interview and responds swiftly if you have any questions about the process, firm, role, etc. Negatives: 1) During my second phone interview, midway through the fit questions, the associate blew me off and said he had to end the call given the tasks at work. Thus, he asked if we can schedule the interview in the afternoon so we did. When the time comes, he called 5 mins late just to tell me sorry that he can't conduct the interview and hope to reschedule for tomorrow. Once again, he called 5 mins late again the next day. 2) During the onsite interview, it was evident that the interviewers had seen my resume for the first time when sitting across the desk from me. One of them didn't even bother to wing it and literally asked me to give him a few minutes to review my resume. Conclusion: - Rescheduling the interview is perfectly fine, but do so if you are completely confident you are free at the time you proposed. My time is as valuable as yours. And if you do anticipate you can't make it, send an email to the candidate. This way, the candidate can allocate the time to something else. Don't call late just to tell me you can't make it. - I understand that sometimes the workload can be insurmountable that one can't analyze a candidate thoroughly (linkedin, resume, etc.) before conducting the interview. But at the very least, take a brief 3 mins or so to review his/her resume before you step into the interview room. That's the very least one can do and not waste the candidate's time. - The way I was treated, I knew I was no longer interested and decided to pursue an offer I had received with another firm. - As for the talent manager/HR, keep it up!! What you're doing is great like replying to everybody's concerns on Glassdoor.

      2 interviews with Associates then a final round which consisted of 4 interviews with managers and a final presentation based on data from the Novus platform. Had good conversations with everyone except for the managing director. At the beginning of the interview, he made it very clear that he didn't want to be there. He spent half of the interview grilling me on the results of a specific project. He seemed very skeptical even after further explanation. He was extremely cocky and made himself appear ignorant when he tried to tell me that hedge funds are the only investment vehicles with a 2 and 20 fund structure. Obviously this is untrue as most private equity/venture capital funds have the same fee structure.
