1. Interview with the "talent acquisition" employee on a Wednesday. She was nice, we had good rapport, and after 15 minutes of talking she advised me she would be recommending me for hire to her manager. Monday comes and I still hadn't heard back, so I politely emailed to follow up, and was told they were in the process of changing hiring managers, and to standby.
2. I am confirmed for a second interview, and 8 days after my first interview, Talent Acquisition sets me up another phone call with a manager. We have a great conversation about the position, what I am looking for in a job, my experience using software similar to Concur's, and a shared enthusiasm for travel and working remotely. The conversation ends on good terms, with her saying she hoped to speak to me again real soon, and that it was a pleasure to talk to me, etc.
3. After not hearing anything for four days, I emailed the Talent Acquisition team and the hiring manager, politely following up to find out where I stood in the hiring process. I promptly receive a reply that I can "rest assured" that I will be hearing back very soon. Note: It's been 13 days since my first interview.
4. Six days after my second interview, I am told via email that while the hiring manager really enjoyed speaking to me and thinks I would be a *great fit for Concur*, they were moving ahead with other candidates, but recommending me to another team. I thank them for the opportunity, and agree to another interview with another team. A third interview with two men from a different team is promptly arranged, to take place 5 days later.
5. So 20 days after being contacted by TA to begin interviews, I have what is supposed to be a 45 minute interview with two men who's team I am allegedly a great fit for. After about 15 minutes, one of the men states that they are looking for a candidate that has experience using Concur's software, which I do not. I never purported to have experience using the software, the job posting and prerequisites never asked for prior experience, and in two prior interviews I clearly stated that I did not have experience with Concur, specifically. After 3 weeks of setting up interviews, speaking to hiring managers, and developing a positive rapport, I was blindsided by the line of questioning and condescending tone of this interview. Needless to say, it was a colossal waste of my time and other people's time. Had any due diligence and proper vetting been done by the TA and hiring management department, it could have been avoided.
I would rate this entire experience as time consuming, unprofessional, and disappointing.
