It starts out pleasant enough with the recruiter phone screen. From there, you're funneled along through the usual dozen and a half interviews which have become de rigeur for tech jobs these days.
Over the course of the interviews it became rather clear that they were fishing for a unicorn who would be willing to work 60 hour weeks for 40 hours of mid-level SysAdmin pay while juggling ownership of five or six different areas of IT operations - essentially architecting an entire IT department from scratch. In this economy, I'm sure they'll find their unicorn, but I find it a rather disingenuous process when listings are misleading like this - peddling expectations soft externally while hoping for a unicorn internally, a unicorn who will happily juggle 4-5 jobs above their pay grade for the pay of one far below their pay grade.
