The interview process was 3 stages- HR recruiter, hiring manager, and final round with Sr. Leadership. The 1st stage with HR went well and I was advanced to the 2nd round. During the interview, I was informed that I was being considered for 2 Finance roles on the team. He asked which one interested me the most and liked my background. In the final round, the Sr. Leader informed me they already selected a candidate for the role that interested me. He wanted to see if I was a good fit for the other role. As I was explaining my experiences, he stopped the interview and stated that my background isn't a good fit for the other position. He ended the interview and said he would consider me for future opportunities that's a better fit. The interview lasted less than 10 minutes, and was a complete waste of time because everyone had my resume. If a candidate had already been identified, the interview should have been canceled. Overall, I didn't have a positive interview experience.
