      Entrevista

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered. No human interaction prior to group interview. Cattle call! Interviewers did not probe or ask behavioral questions. Had preconceived notion based on current and former employers.

      Pregunta 1

No unexpected questions or degree of difficulty. They (interviewers) only seemed interested in their own accomplishments versus the applicants. Did not recognize transferable skills and very close minded. Would never recommend Ross Dress for Less to anyone.

I am relocating to an area where a position was posted. I contacted the recruiter to inquire about the district She read the message. Never responded. Sent a message saying I had applied. Then received a turn down email. I have 10+ years of DM experience. This is why recruiters get a bad rep.

      Entrevista

Took over 4 months long. Face-time interview with Regional. Store visit with Regional. Face-time interview with Regional's Boss. Then 3 separate Executive interviews about 2 months later. Made it through all until the last one because I mis-read the guys title. Their talent team didn't even have it right.

      Entrevista

Where do you even start with this mess of an interview process. I'll start from the beginning. 1. A few days/weeks after applying you will receive an email out of the blue asking you to pick 2 times for your in person interview and to fill out the form they sent. It also states that you will be interviewing for one of the following positions: (lists everything from associate-DM). Kind of odd considering you have had no phone screen or contact up to this point. (Red flag) 2. After picking your 2 times and filling out their form they eventually send you an email with the time they selected. It's a hotel location. (Red flag). 3. Don't be surprised if 1-2 days before the "interview" they change the location.....to another hotel. 4. You show up at the location and there isn't anyone there to greet you and tell you where to go. You and several other people that are also there to interview will have to hunt down the location to check in. 5. You finally find the room they are in and go in to sign up. On the sign up sheet you fill out your name and position you are interviewing for. (Red flags are everywhere at this point). You will see all the people signed up to interview for the same position....and there are a lot.....and this is just for your time slot! Oh and that form you filled out earlier and emailed back in? Oh fill it out again. They don't bother weeding out the individuals who couldn't spend the time prior to the interview sending it back in. 6. Next you wait for someone to come interview you. In my case this was almost 30 mins. 7. You finally get called to do your interview.....guess what? You are about to be interviewed by someone who is in the position you are interviewing for. That's right.....a DM with the company who has been a DM for all of less than 1 year. Oh and that form you filled out.....yeah it has your current salary right there for him to see. Don't be surprised when he/she asks you questions about that! Most questions are pretty easy for anyone with common sense. A few behavior type questions that are easy to answer if you have some experience. 8. So you get done with this 15-30 min interview and are told you will speak with the zone director next. So....you wait until that finally happens. 9. You end up speaking with the zone director (regional manager) who in my case seemed to not really want to be there. His/her questions are more about you and how you work as compared to situational/behavior questions. After answering quit one for a while, that's when his/her next statement hits you. Don't be surprised or shocked when you hear it. "We don't even have any open DM positions right now." Wait.....what? That's right. The person who would be your boss just told you there isn't even a position available and did so in a way that said I don't even know why we are doing this. 10. You then asked if this is your first or second interview of the day. For me it was my second which he was supposed to know....regardless he proceeds to tell me that everyone gets 2 interviews and that since that was my second one I was done and could go. 11. I showed up for this interview at 12pm (5-10 mins early) and I was just now leaving.....it was 2:40pm. All this time and energy for a position that isn't even being filled? There were several other candidates that I spoke with while I was there. (Why not...I had plenty of time). There were a few that shouldn't have even qualified for an interview while comparing resumes with others that were there. But that's not what bothers me the most. What bothers me the most is interviewing for a position that isn't even really open to fill and that some of these people drove in for this "interview" from hours and hours away. So if you are someone that is looking to explore this "opportunity" keep in mind that there probably isn't a position, you will spend hours out of your day interviewing for this so called position, and possibly will have done so while spending gas money driving from hours away. In the end....as I'm sure will happen to me (even though I feel I aced the interview and have the right qualifications).....you will have done this interview and will receive some sort of rejection email. My opinion is that it was a waste of time and energy. I would never do this cattle call process ever again nor would I endorse it to anyone who asked about this company or this process.
