I applied in the middle of August, and was referred to a recruitment event but there were none on the website. Then on the 24 of September I checked the website and saw there were dates and applied for the 26th of September one at River Island Croydon. There were about 12 people including me, and we had a group interview. We first had to show our passports/birth certificates. These are compulsory as one girl who didn't have it was sent home. Then we went into a small back room, and we had to introduce ourselves and say something interesting. We then were put in pairs and had to pick out an outfit for a celebrity for a particular occasion in 20 minutes- I did The Weeknd. We then had to explain why we chose the outfit, and one person in the pair had to pretend they were the celebrity while the other sold the items to the person. We then had to talk about one person who inspires our fashion sense, and I spoke about Patricia Bright, a YouTuber. I definitely recommend being loud and confident, as the manager commented on that. You should try to be outgoing from the start because there are always employees in the room who give feedback. I was lucky as a worker agreed with me when it came to who inspired my fashion sense. They said they will call you in the next 4 days if you got the job, and if you didn't you would get an email from them.

Pretty simple, wanted to know about availability, any previous experience within the retail industry and what about the company I knew about. Had some basic experience questions that the star technique comes in handy for!
