Zoom interview with technical recruiter Feb 28 ‘25. Something felt odd from the start. Recruiter had obviously decided from the beginning that I was not a good candidate possibly by my appearance (I have a beard). I got an almost immediate rejection. I have a lot of advanced C++ behind me but this recruiter seemed to think otherwise. I’ve been writing code since ‘94. I don’t think my resume ever reached the hiring manager’s desk. I don’t think you should judge someone’s technical ability by how they look.
