I was shortlisted for an interview after applying for a job and after the interview made it to the next stage where they would select the successful candidate from a further refined shortlist of 3-5 people. As part of the next stage of the interview process, I was asked to complete an unpaid "home work" task, producing sample creative work for the company. I obliged and went above and beyond, travelling hours to a family farm to create some authentic rural imagery and video which I believed make me a stand out company and be well received given the brand's positioning as a rural clothing brand. After meeting the deadline and submitting the work samples, I received no further updates regarding the job and no official notification to say that the job had been filled by another candidate. Not even an acknowledgement of the effort that had gone into the producing the work samples or thanking me for my application. I followed up a number of times and was told they were just in a busy period but no update ever fourthcoming; and I have to say I was thoroghly disappointed with the lack of professionalism, basic courtesy and respect shown to me as a prospective candidate from a brand who supposedly espouses the Australian Rural values of integrity and mateship. Would not recommend.
