I got the Problem Solving Interview as the first step because the Hiring Manger was not available. The question was: how would you improve sales for Revolut. That's it. Completely not related to my experience or the role I applied for. I was supposed to ask questions to the interviewer as per Recruiter's instructions, but every question I asked was not really answered. The Interviewer only wanted to hear my solutions, wasn't really cooperating. I did my best, I really had a feeling that even though this interviewing style was crazy, I came up with many ideas. But I got rejected, asked for the feedback but never got one.

Entrevista
5 minute call with an interviewer
Asked general questions about my background (Questions that would have been answered had they actually read my CV). Asked location and salary preferences (detailed on job application).
Not progressed to next round. No feedback as to why. Baffling process.
I don't know what information I gave them that was not detailed in my job application and/or CV.
Waste. Of. Time.

Clearly my first interview with a FinTech because never been through so many stages and seems to be a standard approach. 1. Skills interview - this was a pretty straightforward with the Head of Audit. I find it easier to interview with people that actually work in audit, certain things are self explanatory. For eg. If I say I enjoy working on dynamic audits, an experienced auditor instantly knows what that means. 2nd stage Problem solving - again straightforward as that’s what I do on a daily, 3rd was the Home task- this was heavy on data analysis and only had Excel for analysis but did ok. The final stage - Bar Raiser was dreadful! Firstly the interviewer clearly did not read my CV before the interview so had to go over each role over the past 15 years stating what employment type and reasons for leaving. Interesting that in 2024 post covid world we are still fascinated by people that leave jobs. In addition, the recruiter advised not to say any thing negative about previous employers which meant I had to make up reasons for those..lol.. the interviewer didn’t seem to understand as 3rd line of defence, I won’t be responsible for any implementation - that’s first line’s job, I can make recommendations based on identified risks. I was also asked full names for people I had worked with in the past to make the process more awkward. 20mins into an hour interview, we both knew the result. Looking at other reviews, seems I dodged a bullet with this one, so onwards and upwards :)
