Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Revolut (New York, NY) en oct 2019

      Entrevista

Process began as others described before: Phone screen w/ recruiter, home assignment to be completed within a certain time frame relevant to the position, invited on-site for in person interviews. I initially met with people who were cool and knowledgeable but had not been at the company long. I was then asked to come back to meet with additional personnel. On the day of the scheduled interview, it was canceled. Short notice but we rescheduled for the following week. The next day they asked if I could actually come in that same day, again with only a few hours notice due to more scheduling conflicts for the following week. They also said I would need to come in yet again next week. Things started to seem rather disorganized and chaotic but I tried to be flexible and also not draw out the process. I got to the interview 10 min early. I ended up waiting a half hour. Another colleague apologized for the delay but no apology by the interviewer. Thus began the worst interview experience I have ever had. This person actually started with "I don't know who you are and I don't care"...I regret not having walked out right there and advise anyone who goes out of their way to go to an interview to do the same. They started to ask me generic questions and as I began to answer, my answers were either interrupted or ignored as they were looking at their laptop and phone. The interviewer then jumps up to the white board in a frenetic fashion and starts drawing diagrams, going off on tangents about a subject completely and bizarrely unrelated to anything. When that crashed and burned, they proceeded to take a phone call...nice. they then leave the room and comes back with pieces of paper which they threw on the table and draws a gun...well a revolver to be precise. They also asked me if I even knew was a revolver was..... They then proceed to ask me a probability question about the likelihood this game of Russian roulette would end in my death (super appropriate!). I thought it was a joke at first to be honest but I was also incredibly insulted that they would ask me a basic math question. I was thinking it was perhaps one of those outdated google/big tech brain teasers that maybe where was something else to this question and it couldn't be this simple. The interviewer kept aggressively pushing the paper towards me and telling me to write it out? Write out fractions?!? for real? . (BTW google doesn't use brain teasers anymore because it says more about the interviewer than the candidate and doesn't predict anything. It does pose a major red flag about the company and this person...but I am sure they would find their behavior irreproachable.) At this point, them learning nothing about myself or my background, and me realizing I have made a big mistake in jumping through hoops and rearranging my schedule to come here, the interviewer pulls up my resume and starts to read it aloud for the first time. They at least admitted they didn't have time to read it before but it was very clear they didn't even know what I was interviewing for. They then begin to tell me...that they have a higher than average IQ and that they have had tried to leave the company twice.... I tried to email the recruiter about my concerns and feedback and received no response, I followed up. Again no response. Three onsite interviews, assignment, calls, cancellations and rescheduling, emails, and after all that process...zero response. I worked on wall street for over 13 years with a lot of egos and nonsense over the years but never experienced anything like this. They are building out a new business that this person knows nothing about and yet they spend time not asking anything meaningful but drawing guns. Its strange because even when you don't get/want the job but have a positive experience, you can be an advocate (and a customer!) for the company. However, I will not be either of those.

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Revolut

      Entrevista

The interview process was quite long, but very thorough. This not only ensures they hire someone with the right skill set, but also someone who will fit in with the culture. There was a take home task, phone interviews and a multi-person, in person interview.
