Professional well run, tough but highly communicative. Everyone was nice and structure/questions were clear. Didn't get an offer but enjoyed the process. Felt like a good culture and would apply again

Okay, very unfriendly people. Most interviews apart from 1 felt like i'd interrupted their day or was wasting their time. There was one product lead who interviewed me who was friendly.

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Revolut

      Entrevista

I was approached by a recruiter on Linkedin for a role. The process took 2.5 weeks. I'll recount my interview process in detail to help anyone else who is going through their hiring process. Overall, it was unnecessarily long and the company did not respect my time. 1. HR Screen - They asked standard questions about my experience, told me about the role and what Revolut is. They also provided a salary range of $140-150k base (which is lower than market for a role with such a large remit) + $50k sign-on (equity) and average 30% bonus (half equity/cash). I flagged the remuneration as low and they said it could be something negotiated at the end. I was scheduled for the next round within this call. 2. Product Skills - This was 45 mins with a SPM within the team. They asked me standard technical questions. They mentioned that this company/role wouldn't be for everyone due to timezones, expectations, KPIs etc. A lot of meetings would need to be conducted around 6-8PM. A red flag was that they referenced all the negative Glassdoor reviews and tried to come up with reasons as to why that is. The recruiter got back to me within the same day with an invite for the next round. 3. Product Case Study - This was a 45 minute case study with a senior level manager. You will need to prep for this beforehand with the right framework. They're looking for data-driven questions and will only reveal more info if you ask the right questions. A red flag was that they were very unfriendly and appeared annoyed with me, often ridiculing the questions I was asking. The recruiter got back to me within the day to book me in for the next round. 4. Bar Raiser - 1 hour with the hiring manager where they ask you about every role you've had in your career (no matter how ago it was), mainly going over biggest achievements/past performance reviews etc. I find the questions a little redundant because I doubt anyone would say their performance in any previous roles were subpar. The recruiter got back to me within the day that I was onto the final round - Team Fit. 5. Team Fit - This was 30 mins and booked in the day right after my Bar Raiser (very short notice). It was with another team member. A couple of red flags here - they asked me why I would move from such a large, well-performing company to a place like Revolut, as if they thought it didn't make sense. They also told me they underestimated the change in pressure/expectation from their previous company. This was concerning to me as it sounded like they didn't enjoy their job and almost hinted that this is not a good place to work at. Afterwards, the recruiter emailed me saying the hiring manager wanted to invite me to come into the office to have a chat (same person as the Bar Raiser) to meet the team. This was very odd since I already completed all five rounds. Despite this, I skeptically agreed just to see the process through. At the face to face meeting, I had to go through another 45 minutes of interview level questioning, They spent a good amount of time asking me about my current company, the structure etc (it felt like they were collecting info on how we did things). The remainder of our chat was on why I wanted to work at Revolut, what I did outside of work, and my relationship with my current team. I told them I love the people I work with and I do enjoy my current job but am looking for more of a challenge in my next role. At the end of our chat, they told me that while I passed all the rounds and had the right experience, I wasn't progressing because I didn't possess enough conviction to work at Revolut and did not deeply believe in their mission. They also said it looked like I was comfortable staying in my company/team. Mind you, Revolut was the one who reached out to me and I was happy to see where it went. I don't think not hating my job and not having some deeply rooted desire to live and breathe the company is a reasonable reason for rejection, especially so late in the process. These questions were asked in every round and I didn't understand why I was being asked this for a sixth time. Overall, I found my last meeting to be a waste of my time. It could've easily been over a call as a follow-up, or alternatively, it would've been fine to reject me after the team fit round. To add an unnecessary stage afterwards is just disrespectful of my time. Like every other post about Revolut on here and on any other forums, Revolut seems toxic and I would not recommend it to anyone, especially with the low pay. If this is what they expect from their prospective employees, I can only imagine what it's like to work there.
