Absolute shambles. While the initial interview was professional and followed by the job offer, what followed was a joke. After my initial interview in late November, a week later I was offered the position, the only condition was that the start date was tied to a project start a month later (3rd of January) I have committed to waiting and was supposed to receive the rest of the related paperwork by post in 2-3 weeks once HR processed my documents. By Christmas I have not received anything and tried to get in touch with the Project Manager who offered my the position but received no response. I have sent emails, texts, left voicemail. The company was completely shut down over Xmass/NYE period. I was already sceptical but gave the company the benefit of doubt and wait till the 3rd Jan.
As I have not heard back from the company to that date I decided to come in on my supposed start date only to find out that neither the reception knew who I was despite my previous 3 visits during the recruitment process.
As it turned out the person who made the job offer has left the company just before Xmass and no one has followed up on my application and documents. As if that wasn't enough the new person in charge of the project called me to arrange for yet another interview which I begrudgingly attended but it was positive. I got to know my would-be Project Manager who apologised profusely for the situation and wanted to recap on everything we've discussed so far and we were to arrange how to move from there.
HOWEVER, two days late I received an email from him saying how he doesn't think my experience sufficient for this role and unfortunately will not offer me the position on these grounds. Mind you this is a over a month from the job offer being made AND accepted.
Needles to say the company is an absolute joke and I am currently talking to ACAS to see if the case is sufficient to take to an Employment Tribunal
Hope my experience will help others avoid this sham.
