I submitted my application materials online. A little over a week later, I had a screening interview with the hiring manager. It was unusual and kind of awkward. He asked only one question - the standard "Why are you interested in this role and this organization?" Then he left it up to me to ask the rest of the questions. I understand that in good interviews, the interviewer gives the interviewee the opportunity to ask any questions they may have, but it seemed odd to have to carry most of the weight of this interview - or that I was being "interviewed" according to the questions I asked. It took a long time - more than 5 weeks - to hear anything back from the organization.
