Overall, a negative experience. After the interview with the hiring manager there was a delay of over a month before I heard back from the recruiter.
Despite satisfying all of the test requirements and solving the problem within the time constraints, I received a rejection email stating that the solution for the coding interview was "below bar".
Given the time constraints of an interview, if the interviewer is looking for a very specific pattern or implementation, then that should be mentioned in the question. There are countless ways to solve a coding problem, not just the single solution that an interviewer has memorized.
My thought is that there may be some biases involved in the process, or this company has no idea how to properly assess software engineers.

The job posting was for a software engineer role but the actual job was technical support. They admitted they intentionally mislabeled the posting as they were looking for someone with a strong software background.
