Entrevista
I had a technical interview with another analyst at Redscan. It started off with the typical "tell me a little bit about yourself" and then went into technical questioning (which covered basic networking and cybersec topics). At the end of the interview, I had the opportunity to ask the interviewer questions which I took advantage of to see if the company was right for me. I asked about the company culture and a little bit about what the interviewer does and the toolset they typically use.
The interviewer came across as pompous. He said things like "so you're going to have to sell yourself to me now" which I found didn't really help my nerves. He asked if I was aware of Linux, I, of course, answered "yes", he then replied in a condescending tone, "ok" and then proceeded to ask me a series of ambiguous questions which had multiple correct/incorrect answers in an attempt to trip me up. I felt like the interviewer wasn't genuinely interested in looking for an analyst but rather wanted to flex his ego. If I was offered a job at Redscan, I would not hesitate to decline.
In future, I think Redscan should appoint a manager to conduct interviews.

a three-interview process. Lots of technical questions to gauge knowledge, get to meet a few people in charge of the SOC. Plenty of opportunities to discuss the role. Could maybe have gotten the same results in 1 or two interviews?

From the get go the recruitment admin was difficult to get hold of and she didn't provide any information on how the process would work. I didn't receive the meeting invite to the interview so I had to chase for this. The interview itself was positive, I was interviewed by a senior SOC analyst. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain any topics that I wasn't aware of or questions that I could only partially answer. He also provided some additional learning resources which I thought was great being as this was an entry level position. The Negative point was that I never received any feedback from the company nor further communication after the first interview. I have chased multiple times but seem to have been ignored which is a shame, as an existing IT professional I feel this doesn't reflect well on any company.
