      Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Redkite en dic 2020

      Entrevista

      Came across this Contract role through a recruiter and was told the role would be focused on data visualisation / developing dashboards for one of RedKite's clients. The phone screening was conducted by their HR Lead. Was asked some typical background / skills questions and a couple of technical questions around data engineering, even though the role was supposedly for a data visualisation contract. I did not progress further than this stage. The feedback I received was that I presented myself well and spoke well, but lacked the technical knowledge for the role. I took offense to this broad assessment based on limited questioning. The technical question they asked me (noted below) was vaguely worded and although important, was not core to the role I was applying for. It was like the construction equivalent of asking an Architect, "What type of steel beam would you use to support the building?" instead of asking about their design process. Clearly, RedKite was not hiring for a Data Visualisation Lead but rather looking for an all-round Consultant. I suspect being deliberately vague might be part of their interview strategy. My advice to future applicants, ask lots of questions. If you get an ambiguous response, either from RedKite or the recruiter, don't bother wasting your time.
