Instead of an interview, the interviewers were asking specific solutions on how to resolve “problems” they had been dealing with. It was so obvious that instead of looking to actual hire an employee or pay for consulting time, they were trying to save money by getting solutions from interviewees. I gave away free advice instead. I’ve always heard of this happening, but never experienced it until this interview…Now I make sure I interview and explain the skills I have to solve their problems without actually giving them the answers.
