Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Rackspace Technology

      Entrevista

Recruiter reached out after the hiring manager expressed interest. After the recruiter interview it was scheduled with the practice lead from their Onica division who is not the Hiring Manager (HM). The interviewer would ask question and while answering, he would cover his mouth/nose area with his hand!!! I thought that was the end but .... Later they became deceptive by bringing a different recruiter, scheduling an interview with the HM, then reschedule it, which was eventually cancelled by them! They are a big company so is their unprofessionalism wasting corporate and other people's time. If interviewing is like this, what it would be like working there!

      Entrevista

I heard of the position through a friend of the hiring manager. Applied online through the normal portal, with that friend pinging the hiring manager about my application. While helpful, I probably would've still gotten the job, but perhaps with an extra step in the interview process (in-person) The process overall: Initial phone screen with recruiter Second phone screen with overall manager Two-part video conference call, both panel interviews: first, with coworkers and team lead; second, with manager and their boss. I was applying from out of state. Overall the process was relatively fast compared to other companies. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was simple, describing my work experience and what my salary expectation was (I provided a range based on glassdoor salary estimates, and the recruiter confirmed we were in the same ballpark). The first phone screen with the manager was a bit more technical, but still on a broader scale, to see if I could describe my work to non-practitioners. The final video conference interview had several technical questions (SQL) and detailed questions about the types of models I'd used, the tools I used and questions to test my understanding of the underlying statistical principles. The second part of the video interview was more casual, a discussion of the larger team and it's role at the company. My opinion is they were looking to see how I would fit in, but in a casual, organic way. The process of receiving an offer was "overly thorough" in a sense.. I got a phone call, then an email, then informal email offer letter, then an official offer letter. This particular process took almost 2 weeks, including the background check. They asked my salary requirements in that first phone call before making any offer. The salary I suggested was their initial offer... which probably means I came in a little too low. The company provides above average benefits, which were important to me, so I was happy to accept what I considered a fair salary offer. The interview overall was not overly difficult-- commiserate with my current skill level-- and everyone was kind and engaging along the way. Other places I'd interviewed for had the occasional disinterested participants, as though they were going through the motions; this was not the case with this team.
