I submitted an application on Indeed. I heard back from their hiring coordinator, who asked for some writing samples. I lost direct access to my writing samples due to my laptop frying out. The hiring coordinator worked with me and looked at the writing samples I have online.
The hiring coordinator sent me an email saying they would love to have me aboard and needed me to fill out some onboarding information, which also asks you to do a writing project so they can gauge your work. At this point, I looked at glassdoor for a review and found a negative review here claiming RDM is a bunch of scammers. I sent them an email about this, telling them I was sketched out by this. The hiring coordinator and the owner contacted me very shortly afterwards, wanting to connect and clear up this issue. The owner himself scheduled a phone call with me and really cleared the air. He said RDM pays for this writing sample. His whole point was to make sure they did not miss an opportunity to not hire someone for a reason like this.
He also encouraged me to make the best decision that I need to make for myself. Informing me that they would be happy to have me write for them even just a few times.
I still have not finished the hiring process here, as I have other opportunities as well. I will probably try to write for RDM as often as possible. Regardless, I wanted to clarify from this past review. I will update this post when I know more.
