      Entrevista para IT Support Tech

      16 ene 2013
      Candidato de entrevista anónimo
      Provo, UT
      Sin ofertas
      Experiencia negativa
      Entrevista difícil

      Solicitud

Me postulé a través de una facultad o universidad. El proceso tomó 1 día. Acudí a una entrevista en Qualtrics (Provo, UT)

      Entrevista

Found offer posted on my university campus; I called to get more information about it but the person I talked to was unsure as it was a new/improvised position. During the phone call I simply arranged a date and to come in and interview. I came in on the set day and time and had to wait in a conference room at least 15-20 minutes beyond my scheduled start time. Finally the lead developer came in, apologized for being late, and began with the typical sort of questions. He admitted that he wasn't exactly sure what responsibilities that this position would entail, only that it would involve keeping their entire Web infrastructure running and troubleshooting any issues. Personally I found this very surprising giving the fact that the flyer said they wanted a part-time student doing this job. The interviewer threw together some random questions, including a vague assortment of multiple choice questions about networking standards and the like. I wasn't familiar with many of these and so he proceeded to ask me a programming question (string merge). I felt I did well with the behavioral stuff but not the technical ones. Frankly I wouldn't have accepted the job anyway because they didn't seem very organized or even know what the position was supposed to do. From the little I did find out, I don't see how a single part-time university student could have handled it anyway.
