A few weeks back, I was contacted by the recruiter on LinkedIn and was asked to have a quick meeting on the same day or the following day. I rescheduled everything in my personal plan and managed to have the 1st interview the day after. The discussion with the recruiter was nice but a bit rushed, and in the interview, I asked multiple organizational and specific questions about the task, processes, etc. The recruiter was not able to advise and told me that we could schedule an interview with the Team Lead after his holiday so the Team Lead could answer all my questions. I waited until the Team Lead was back so we could have the 2nd interview. (Of course, I can understand and respect other people's PTO, and it was no rush for me to have the 2nd interview right away). The interview with the team lead was very nice, they were very impressed by my experience and even told me I was the 1st candidate to interview after the vacation. At the end of the meeting, I asked which are the next steps and what I should expect. I was informed that if all was good, I would receive a test to complete, and then I should have a 3rd interview with the Head of HR this time. In less than 24 h from the interview with the Team Lead I received from the recruiter (on Linkedin) a standard AI generated rejection message saying that they appreciate my time, my experience but they moved on with another candidate. It's hard for me to believe that the Team Lead interviewed more candidates in less than 24 hours, considering that I was 1st to interview, and they managed to reach a decision so fast by moving on with another candidate.
I have shared the same feedback with the recruiter on LinkedIn and with the Team Lead via email, asking for more detailed feedback on what went wrong in the interview, but I have not received any.
Dear recruiting team, please stop using AI-generated feedback and share the real reason for rejection with your candidates. It's not nice to spend time in interviews just for the Recruiting team to do market research.
