I went through an extensive, multi-stage interview process that included several video interviews, a full on-site interview day with a leadership panel, and a factory tour. This involved significant time and preparation on my part and required travel and in-person attendance.
Despite the seniority of the role and the level of engagement requested, the process concluded with a generic rejection email and no direct feedback or follow-up conversation. This was particularly disappointing given that I had been told to expect further follow-up and had received positive signals during the on-site interviews.
For a senior, business critical role, the lack of professionalism in how the process was closed was surprising. After investing considerable time and effort on both sides, a templated rejection with no feedback felt disproportionate and dismissive.
If Pyrotek wishes to attract senior, experienced professionals, the hiring process particularly at the final stage needs to be more respectful of candidates’ time and effort. Clearer upfront expectations and more considered closure (e.g. a short feedback call) would significantly improve the candidate experience.
