Be prepared to sit in for an interview where they grill you about a bunch of non-massage related stuff. Make sure you have some stories ready to go about various things that have happened (or not) in your life that are completely irrelevant to massage therapy. This interview process is about how good of a performer/talker you are, not what you know about your trade and how you practice massage. If you are an introvert or have a hard time making up bs, you will not do well in this interview. And then the owner will condescendingly tell you to go work at massage envy.

It was a temp to perm listing online. I did a written exam explaining how I'd differentiate one clinical condition from another and how I'd treat them accordingly. It felt like this part of the interview was to weed out bodyworkers who may not have good written English skills. I personally don't care if my massage therapist has good written English skills, but this place attempts to maintain control over workers and clients (note: clients, not patients) by spinning lots of verbiage. Then I had one hands on appointment which I was late for, so I called ahead and said I'd be late (bridge was shut down). I didn't think they'd hire me, but they did. In retrospect this should have been a red flag. They were desperate to have a qualified massage therapist there for the summer while the senior staff took their month long vacations. Two workers quit with minimal or no notice in the 6 weeks I worked there.
