My 1st interview was a panel interview and went well mostly. They asked me about my background and something personal about myself. My 2nd interview was with the hiring manager and the questions were mostly about my skills and management experience. I never heard back with an update regarding the position. I sent a thank you note to the hiring manager who stated that they were in the process of finalizing the interviewing process. I believe a courtesy email would have been helpful to inform the candidate on the job status.
