Scheduled to meet a recruiter in person for the one-on-one inspection of my appearance, mannerisms and review of my skills. In an era of electronic filing systems, this staffing agencies had none of it. I had to sit for 30 minutes filling out applications. I was tested on my skills (Excel and Word) online. The length of the in-person interviewed lasted about 1.5 hours mostly due the manual application process. I was being interviewed for a specific position but when I wanted to discuss the job the recruiter told me that the position had been filled. Yet, the position had only been posted one day prior. The recruiter had NO OTHER POSITIONS available but wanted to keep the interviewing going by asking more questions about my current employer. It became apparent that the recruiter wanted to fill the position that I was leaving and not finding me employment. I have a skill that is marketable and in high demand but the recruiter was USELESS in getting me interviews while other staffing agencies were sending me on average to 2 interviews per week. I was glad to have the other agencies available to find employment with a good company after 3 months.
