Their manner throughout the interview process was fine, but ended up with them rather unreasonable in the end. During the phone screening and hiring manager interview, the conversations were pleasant and it seemed like there was solid interest. There was a mistake in scheduling regarding the hiring manager for that position, which left me wondering, but it's a simple mistake, or so I thought. Nonetheless, I got to eventually speaking with the hiring manager a couple days later than scheduled. The concern they had was that since I was overseas, that I wouldn't be able to provide some overlap. For the record, they do have overseas employees over the Atlantic, so I would think it's something they would be used to. So in response, I explicitly mentioned multiple times that if where I am located is a problem, I would be willing to relocate back to the US no problem. Following the hiring manager interview, I was told there were would be the take home assignment but at first they needed to discuss with their people operations about working partially overseas. I thought the initial phone screening I had with their internal recruiter they were going to discuss that before moving to the hiring manager and give me feedback to avoid any issues. I thought that I got the letter to do the hiring manager interview that everything was ok. That wasn't to be the case. Instead of disclosure upfront regarding where they prefer their remote workers, they decided to send an automatic rejection letter after mulling over it for a couple days. I guess there was lack of faith in me making the compromise to return back to the US, but my lack in faith in their interview process or their lack of disclosure probably outweighs theirs. Beware of this company. They aren't as good as they make themselves out to be.
