To apply, I had to e-mail 5 pieces of writing and your CV accompanied by a motivation letter. After positive feedback, someone from the Marketing team e-mailed me a reply with links to schedule a video face-to-face meeting and an online survey.
This survey was 9 pages long and included some annoying cliché questions and the inappropriate request to send a salary slip their way, which I politely declined. I felt the line of questioning was rather disrespectful and didn't hesitate to make my feelings clear in many of my answers as well as in the 'Any comments?' box. Got a polite e-mail from the CEO afterwards explaining they wouldn't move forward with my application as they consider the survey an important phase in their application procedure and that the next steps in their selection process would require a considerable amount of effort on the candidates' effort.
In the marketing colleague's e-mail, I read the next steps would include: a 20-minute video call and a full practice day at the office with two writing assignments. If there would be match, they would look at employment terms.
I didn't get to that part, which I didn't mind. The survey didn't give me a good vibe at all. It felt disrepectful, pretentious and naive.
