They moved quick. Seemed to need someone in asap. The recruiter was nice and clearly communicated the steps. They do not have a technical assessment, just a personality/cognitive test that I have seen non-tech companies use.
The interview with the director was strange. I have experience in the exact stack they wanted, the job posting was for that stack. In the interview they asked for another tech stack that is closely related but not what was actually asked in the description. They didnt know what they needed, signals a disconnected higher management.
I was grilled on my beginner career experince and it was framed like I quit and hopped jobs. The director had that old typical corporate mindset that tracks with the reviews of the company. Im glad I didn't get an offer, I already resolved that I would contoniue my job search, quit, and job hop for the first time in my career if I got an offer haha.
I think if I was met with a different demeanor, I could have seen myself working here for the long-term. The hiring manager and the recruiter were great and knew their stuff, kudos to them!
