This was a freelance role paying below average rates, but with a three-stage process as rigorous as a full-time permanent role with benefits. It started with a questionnaire, then a (great, friendly) 30-minute interview, followed by a two-stage test. Following the test, I was told others had hit the tone/answered the questions exactly as required, so I wouldn't be taken forward. Totally fair enough. I just thought it was a shame that when I asked (nicely!) for a line or so of more specific feedback about my application - which took hours of my unpaid time - the manager concerned just ignored me. The company talks a good game, but I was left with a vague feeling that I'd had a lucky escape.
