My interview experience with Pinterest was genuinely one of the best I’ve had. What stood out most was the transparency at every stage. Right from the start, they shared the exact salary for the role — before asking anything about my background — simply to make sure we were aligned. That level of clarity and respect is rare, and it set the tone for the entire process. They also laid out the full interview process upfront, so I understood exactly what each step would involve. Throughout, the team was consistently communicative and incredibly responsive, which made the experience smooth and respectful of my time. The interviews themselves were focused, efficient, and thoughtful. The questions were smart and direct, and I appreciated meeting four different colleagues across different levels of the organisation. It gave me a well-rounded sense of the culture, the team, and the expectations of the role. Overall, Pinterest handled the process with a level of honesty, professionalism, and consideration that truly stood out. It left a very positive impression of the company and how they treat candidates.

I had an initial discovery interview and then an interview with the hiring manager. This was pretty thorough discussing why I wanted the role, giving certain scenarios and asking what I'd do in them and also discussing strengths, weaknesses, skills etc. After that I had to draft an opinion piece based on some work that Pinterest were doing. I didn't get through to the final round after this.
