Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Pickcel (Bengaluru) en may 2018

      Entrevista

Pickcel cannot take a rejection. I had other offers, but I kept them on the sides because I was waiting for the interview process of Pickcel to get over because I did like their company. Because I read their job description, and I was extremely excited to work on the technologies mentioned. Red Flag 1 : The job description is fake. Whatever technologies they mentioned in the JD was never going to be used. I found this out from the CEO who had no idea about the JD too. They offer all their interns 8000 which is their policy. Red flag 2: Honestly its low for even an intern who is giving 8-10 hours a day, has to pay for food and lodging facilities in a new city. At the end of the month, you are probably left with 500-1000Rs. They take a lot of interns, keep them for 6 months or more, and make them do their important work for a low salary. The salary was a problem for me and I had to take another offer, but I did make sure I recommend a friend because they deserved good candidates. This friend went there for a face to face interview. And the CEO mentioned atleast thrice in my FRIEND's interview that he thinks *I* was indecent enough to reject once an offer has been given. According to him, if an offer is given, you should just take it even if its not suitable for the candidate. Tip to the CEO: What about the thousand candidates that you reject who are applying to your company? When a candidate applies, you should just take him/her. It's indecent to reject them after they have given you their time in applying. Now nobody is just interviewing with one company. They HAVE to try multiple companies because you have to be on the safe side. The CEO had the same doubts about my friend, so he wanted to give an offer, but said he would only roll an offer letter once my friend confirms to join the company. My friend actually got a better offer immediately in the next working day. Better mentors, better pay, much more exposure, challenging, closer to home. So obviously my friend took that offer and had to reject Pickcel. Again Pickcel HR couldnt take this rejection. Ego hurt because they havent yet rolled an offer letter, so how dare my friend even reject them. Irony! After looking at this behaviour, I am so so SO fortunate that I did not join the company.

Thank you for your feedback! It really helps to understand the perspective of someone who is on the other side of the table. However, we thought to clarify few points which may have led due to some miscommunication. "Pickcel can not handle rejections" - Well this is a statement without proper facts. Its all about the time ,effort and energy both parties invest, which should be honoured.By honouring, we mean a proper communication and not an acceptance, especially if someone is seekig for an internship for just couple of months. Concerns on JD - We extremely apologise for that. It was not intentional. As we deal with lot of recruitments the JD for interns has been overlooked. It was a human error and we will ensure to avoid such errors in future. Stipend - We believe, we are paying fairly for interns which is as per the market standards. Just a quick research will reveal - on an average the stipend paid for interns in Bangalore is mush less than 8K. Our offering as a stipend was clearly mentioned in the job post. Someone shouldn't apply, if this doesn't matches ones expectation. We strongly believe that internship is a platform for gaining some industrial exposure and get acquainted with work culture which will enable smooth transition from educational life to work life. We would suggest to apply for full term, if someone is really looking for a regular salary. Thank you once again for your valuable comments and we understand your aspirations for an intern role. This will definitely help in bringing transparency in our communication while recruiting interns.
