Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Picarro (Santa Clara, CA) en jul 2023

      Entrevista

I applied online then recruiter contacted me and scheduled a 30 minutes phone interview with hiring manager. After that they asked me to schedule an onsite interview with 4 sessions. Two sessions is technical discussion about your previous experiences. One session is coding where they gave me an example code and ask me to add or modify code to solve their questions. The last session is with a senior manager talking about tech, company trend, ect. I accepted an offer but several days before joining the company, they informed me that due to their financial problems the position closed. It was very unprofessional and I were speechless to say anything about this company.

      Entrevista

The recruiter was very nice and efficient. The actual interviewers (I had a phone interview with multiple people at once) were very snobbish and not nice at all. They did not ask any technical/behavioral questions, but rather focused on some rubbish like "How many lines of code have you..." I mean really? This is the most important measure for you, not analytical or problem solving abilities, but metrics that don't carry much meaning? My number was not up to their liking, so they decided to abruptly end the call by saying "Oh, you are still learning, good luck with that! You will find some entry-level position somewhere eventually." The fact is I did not apply for a senior level role and I am already in a software engineer position (not even junior). Just unbelievable! I don't know if they did not like me being of different age group/nationality, so had to pick on me, or if they always measure everything in numbers of lines... But did you really have to say something like that? A simple "Sorry, we're looking for someone with a different skillset/experience. Good luck with your search!" would have been polite. No wonder the company that started around the same time as Google in the space of unlimited grow opportunities remains sitting in the dust of their competitors and feverishly measuring their lines of code.
