I went through two interviews, one Zoom and one in person that included a tour and meetings with the hiring manager and CEO. After the final interview, I sent a follow-up email. I was told they were wrapping up interviews and would be in touch, but I never heard back.
The salary range was never disclosed, even in the final interview. I was asked what compensation I was looking for and said I was targeting the average market rate. When I asked what their budgeted range was, I was told my number was above their budget, but they would not share the actual range. I expressed that I was open to negotiation, but it is difficult to negotiate without understanding the company’s budget.
They also mentioned they would send benefits information, which was never provided. Overall, the process felt disorganized and lacking transparency.
